License Terms

MasterAssets Licensing

A plain-language summary of how MasterAssets licenses work.

1

Free for individuals

One person using MasterAssets alone - including freelance or commercial work - pays nothing.

2

Subscription for teams

Commercial teams and studios pay an annual, per-seat subscription. New versions are included while you're subscribed.

3

Stopping doesn't kill it

If you stop paying, MasterAssets freezes at the version you last had - it keeps working, it just stops updating.

4

Individual, Commercial, or Site

Pricing is tiered by how many people are using it, not by revenue.

1. What a license covers

A MasterAssets license grants a named seat - one person - a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use the product. The Individual tier is a single free seat for one person's own use. The Commercial and Site tiers are paid, per-seat annual subscriptions for teams and studios. See section 3 for what happens to your access while you're subscribed, and if you stop.

2. Individual, Commercial, and Site pricing

MasterAssets is priced by how many people at an organization are using it, not by company revenue. All tiers unlock the exact same product - there is no feature difference between them.

Tier Price Who it's for
Individual Free A single person using MasterAssets on their own - personal projects, freelance, or otherwise - with no other seats at the same organization.
Commercial £180 / seat / year Studios and companies with more than one person using MasterAssets. One subscription seat per person.
Site Licence From £2,400 / year Larger studios wanting studio-wide access instead of managing individual seats. Priced by studio size - contact us for a quote.

Tier is self-certified at checkout - we don't audit team size before a sale. If a second person at the same organization starts using a seat registered under the free Individual tier, that organization needs to move to the Commercial tier (or a Site Licence) and pay for the seats in use.

3. How the Commercial and Site subscriptions work

Commercial and Site Licence seats are billed annually. While a seat's subscription is active, that seat gets the current version of MasterAssets and every update released during the subscription, at no extra cost.

Earning a permanent version. For every 12 consecutive months a seat's subscription stays active, that seat permanently earns the version of MasterAssets that was current when that 12-month period began, plus all of that major version's minor and patch releases. This is yours to keep even if you cancel afterward.

If you stop paying. MasterAssets does not stop working the moment a subscription lapses. Instead, it freezes at whichever version that seat last had access to. You can keep using that frozen version indefinitely - you just won't receive any further updates or new major versions until the seat is resubscribed. Once a seat has reached a 12-month milestone, the version it earned at that point is permanently yours regardless of what happens to the subscription afterward.

The free Individual tier has no subscription clock - it's simply free, for as long as EspositoLabs offers it, with no earn-out or freeze mechanics to track.

4. New major versions

Unlike a one-time purchase, a new major version (for example, MasterAssets 2.0.0) is included automatically for any Commercial or Site seat with an active subscription - there's no separate purchase needed to move up. If a seat's subscription has lapsed and is frozen on an older version, resubscribing restores access to the current version and everything released since.

5. One license, one seat

Licenses are issued per individual, not per machine and not per company. The same license key may be used across a licensed user's own devices (e.g. a home and work machine), but it is not intended for simultaneous use by, or sharing between, multiple people. If several people at an organization need to use MasterAssets, each of them needs their own seat.

6. What teams and companies should know

  • Seat-based, not floating. There's no network or floating license pool - seat count should match the number of individuals actively using the software.
  • Buying for a team. Subscribe one seat per artist/user who will run MasterAssets. For larger studios needing several seats at once, email us for a consolidated quote, invoice, or Site Licence.
  • Keys are confidential. Treat license keys like credentials - don't share them across employees or post them internally where they could leak outside the licensed user.
  • Offboarding. If a licensed employee leaves the studio, contact us to reassign that seat to a replacement team member.
  • No redistribution or resale. The product itself can't be redistributed, resold, or sublicensed - see the full Terms of Service for details.
  • Procurement. Need a formal invoice, PO-based purchase, or a signed order form for internal approval? Email us before subscribing and we'll sort it out.
  • Budgeting for renewal. Commercial and Site seats are billed annually. If a seat isn't renewed, it freezes rather than being revoked - see section 3 for exactly what that means.
  • Check your tier. If more than one person at your organization is using MasterAssets, move to the Commercial tier or a Site Licence - see Individual, Commercial, and Site pricing above.
